T Rose ( New York ) My husband and I have the ability to work remotely and we have been growing tired of lugging a heavy laptop RoadTrips. Were not only cumbersome, but it would be extremely expensive to replace in case of loss or damage. Enter the Acer Aspire! After reading the reviews I was afraid I would find the keyboard and mouse pad cramped difficult. Although it is not convenient portable format, which does not have a difficult transition from one to another. I have a little mouse to take in the suitcase for extended use, but I'm fine with the touchpad on access to check email and so on.
The Aspire is to quickly launch and manage all the software without problems. I havent uploaded too many programs on it, but I have the basics (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the car flies over my full size laptop. Battery life is great. I've never tested the limit of 6.5 hours, but I UESD for hours and hours without a battery warning. It 'also recharge quickly. (One minor complaint is that the cable is large enough, I'm sure there's no way to get around. Just keep in mind is a cable of two pieces of brick pack If you think you have to reload or use a power running while you work. This is not something you can just paste in your pocket).
Bottom line, I found the combination of quality and convenience so I bought another for my husband. We no longer have to use a turn when we are out of town. I keep in my living room for children to use when you travel. And size is great for them and I fear that a slip will cost us several hundred dollars to replace (not to mention any loss of files, etc.). It is the ideal machine for people on the go and for someone who just wants a computer for Internet access and word processing needs and the occasional spreadsheet.

Red Baron ( Milwaukee ) I purchased this netbook mainly for writing and research in the library, where its compact size is perfect. E 'also became my MP3 player ... Not convenient as a portable player like iPod or Zune, but sitting in the passenger seat in my car connected to my stereo system is perfect ... especially if they are put to work in all cases to use my lunch break. I also bought the Acer Aspire One AOD150 10.1-inch Netbook Executive Leather Case & Car Charger and address the issue of fingerprints, others have mentioned regarding the finish on the netbook itself. I have not bought an external hard drive, but I was able to install Office 97 first copy of the software on a USB external hard drive, then install the Netbook from the USB drive. He did so with a couple of other programs as well. Once I buy a real hard disk, I want to install Office XP, but for now my office documents created on 97 Netbook is compatible with Office XP on my desktop.
The only problem I had with him was that the Ethernet port does not work. I have a wireless router at home, so if I wanted to connect to the Internet, I had to use the Ethernet port ... Acer has been slow to be useful. Yes, I know what to do with customers who have vast experience and knowledge of computers (or lack of experience and knowledge). But while I am not an IT professional, I know enough about computers to do all my stuff and updates the software itself, does not seem to understand. So after about a month back and forth with their support line, they finally agreed that the computer itself was not working properly and I was sent for repairs.
