I purchased this netbook for my wife, after having bought an Asus 1000HE to me about 6 months before. His needs are not sufficiently challenging than mine. As such, for the duration of the battery model that I bought was not a problem. She is very happy (considering the years ThinkPad has been used). To say that I noticed is the difference between the surface of the touchpad. While most have a flush mounted touchpad is in the hands, the 1005HA has raised a rectangular structure. This is actually part of the case. It took me a little 'back, but functionally performs as expected. I like the "left and right mouse" on the 1005HA. I'm not like all the buttons, but rather a bar to pass, turning left or right-click. I like much better than what my 1000HE Netbook. These are some things that stand out as a little 'different. I would recommend this product to other netbooks. FWIW, I run Windows 7 on my 1000HE and once hoped Asus provides a full set of 7 drivers, I load 1005HA well.

Although I do not Asus in Baja, where I have limited access to electricity, then put the battery and rechargability a great test, the computer has so far very good results. Once I have all the necessary software is removed from the IT, like most of the orders in bulk Microsoft should continue to run like a race car, even after loading my programs. Two small problems, Asus is no stranger to electronics. First, any attempt to use MS Works has submitted an application to register the user code. After trying this a dozen times and was told the code is not valid, I just gave up. Secondly, the function and my wireless router does not communicate, which proved to be a problem with router - no connection with the revision, except that my efforts to resolve the problem through the Asus technical support told me just a nerd techno could understand, in broken English. So do not do technical questions. Conclusion: the value of money.......................................................

Let me start by saying that this is the perfect Netbook. This is my first netbook, and I had done a considerable amount of research before deciding on the 1005HA. He received the best reviews on the web, and was also one of the best-selling netbook, and I can understand why. It 'almost perfect in all respects. I have just the system I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB (2 GB is the maximum supported) with CT25664AC667 Crucial 2 GB DDR2 667 MHz SODIMM 200-pin Laptop Memory, I also purchased from Amazon. The only problem I encountered when I used the battery first Netbook was not recognized by Windows, but something must have been wasted in Windows, because everything went well, after a few minutes and it was fine then. Windows 7 works well on this system;
I installed, but then went back to XP because not all the Asus utilities (such as the Super Hybrid Engine - that the great work) is compatible with Windows 7. The hard drive has a partition for recovery that can be used to restore your system to its factory settings without the need for the recovery DVD (which is included in the package). It is true that the glossy finish shows fingerprints a lot, but do not really bother me. Glossy touchpad is a little 'getting used to, but once you use a little' works quite well. The characteristics of the multitouch touchpad is also nice and funny and easy to use. The keyboard is fairly easy to type on (I use to write this). The battery lasts very long (mine gets about 7-7.5 hours). Other reviews I've read on various sites have argued that the system has a glossy screen, which is hard to read in direct sunlight.
I found it interesting because my screen is a matte, which does not have this problem, but I have a friend with this netbook, which had for some time, "which has a bright screen. Maybe Asus school and now is only producing matte screens? The unit has built-in Bluetooth, but are not using Bluetooth technology with any of my devices anyway. 802.11b/g/n wireless card. It seems that the wireless card has a lower power (which makes sense for a netbook), but has trouble connecting to weaker signals wirelessly, which is a compromise for the life of the battery. This is not a big problem for me. netbook boots and runs very fast, much faster than expected . Even before I installed the update of the RAM was still pretty fast.
Although I have indicated some areas where the system is short, I give 5 stars anyway. The performance, battery life, light weight, ease of use and functionality far outweigh the defects of small size. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an ultra-low-cost mobile netbook. You will not be disappointed.

I had the 1005HA-VU1X black pearl for 2 months. My sole purpose for buying was to use the road. My 3 main criteria were (and still are for any netbook) battery, opaque screen, trackpad and keyboard. Here is my experience after a month long trip to Asia: Battery: a word, amazing! I get 5.5-6 hours with the use of wireless Internet and the screen brightness down a few notches, 7 hours on the internet and off 50% of the time. I do not see how you can get the advertised 8.5 hours though. I have not tried with a DVD.
Opaque screen: Once again, the V-1005HA V stands for "Matt" 1005HA-P has a bright screen. Bright screen compared to my old Toshiba Satellite, for use outdoors, no "mirror" any interior. Trackpad / Mouse: Touchpad a good size, you can adjust the sensitivity of different ways. The buttons are firm but not ridiculusly difficult to press the buttons as the 1000H. Keys: so-so, I am a fighter and Peck typist problems so at least there. HOWEVER, after 2-3 hours of use, my wrists would hurt. Finally, if you plan to use non-stop while traveling, get your mouse in your bag!
On a side note, this is my first netbook. When you move a laptop for a netbook for the first time is a rather 'shocking. I do not see how it can replace a laptop screen "real estate" simply does not exist. But it proves once again, perfect for travel. A show little known to reboot (turn-off) in about 30-35 seconds (with only 1 GB of RAM) ... Compare this to a laptop!
