I bought this laptop (Black LT2032u) at Best Buy a few days before Black Friday, and until now, I'm pretty impressed. Bought what my wife, because she does not seem to go on my computer (I'm still on it). Plus, it's so small and light, can be left in an entertainment center at the bottom instead of her having to go upstairs to the computer room to use a computer.

It's form factor is just about the perfect size. My only complaints are:
1. The keyboard is a bit cramped for my bigger hands (but it's a netbook, so I can't really fault it for that, as I knew what we were buying)
2. The fact that the edges of the lid don't have any lips or hold points, so opening the cover when it's closed can be a bit tricky. A lot of times, I have to use my fingernail to start prying the lid from the base. Overall, not a deal breaker by any means, but can be annoying sometimes.
3. It comes with a Gateway Backup Utility for backing up your PC, but since the Netbooks don't come with a writable DVD drive (or any for that matter), the utility says no drive is available, and won't do a backup. Personally, I think this a flaw that Gateway should have considered, and modified the program to let you write to a DVD drive if you have one, or write an image to the Hard Drive, so you can move it to another PC on the network, and burn it to a DVD there.

The PC itself works well. He came with the standard Atom 270, 1GB of RAM, integrated video card, built in webcam, etc., but it has a hard disk of 250 GB instead of 160 GB hard drive and comes with Windows Starter 7. Although I am not interested in reducing Win 7 starter, once again, I can only blame the door (blame Microsoft). I immediately upgraded the RAM to 2 GB chip (instead of 1 GB), and is very fast, with this addition. Also, I installed Google Chrome (which is much faster than IE, Firefox, and even a little ' "), and cruises online with ease. I also uninstalled all the Norton bloat tool, and installed Windows Antivirus Security Essentials, which Believe it or not, is really good and light (perfect for a netbook). Oh, and it's free! also based on Microsoft Office Trial, and installed OpenOffice light (as good or very good for a netbook).

After two weeks of playing with him (yes, I know, I think he bought it for my wife) are not up to the computer room to use my main PC (at 6 months of new Toshiba laptop) in, and instead, no I can do more than I need.

In fact, they have met all other issues (other than those mentioned above), and I must say that we are very pleased that we had. Also, when is on sale at Best Buy for $ 279, it was a good price, considering all the other netbooks, with 7 wins and a 250GB HDD has had at least $ 350. I originally intended the Toshiba NB205-N330, but it was $ 399 +. Yes, could have a N280 instead of N270 of the bridge and a bus a few "high-speed Bluetooth, and (you can buy a USB Bluetooth adapter for $ 4 if I need one), but save more than $ 120, was worth worthwhile. I do not think I ever noticed the difference too large (at least when I played with the two side by side at Best Buy). I am very glad I bought it, and I highly recommend it. Even some of my friends who are came and I showed them, were very impressed. Saving a few dollars and go with this over the more expensive Toshiba, Asus, etc, will not be disappointed!

I can easily say that this is one of the best netbooks I've ever used. I bought this on sale at BestBuy Black Friday for $ 279.00 and worth every penny. Windows 7 is very interesting on this machine and boots for the office was completely extinguished in about 15-20 seconds. So far, the experience is very positive. Surprisingly, this little machine is running World of Warcraft (ofcourse in the video settings to low) absolutley flawless. Great buy, I would say to anyone!

OMNI Black Netbook LT2032u proved to be great. I had less than a week and so far I like it. If you get a case for that, we know that the 6-cell battery, it is too large for the narrow majority of cases (about one centimeter a list of the size of the battery when it is closed). I have mine in a case of subtle, but the battery pull the zipper (and therefore can not be completely closed. I just wanted something to be protected in a bag I put in what is OK to order now.

Speaking of batteries - six on the life of cells is amazing. In power saving mode and the screen brightness to 10% gray, Windows has about 9 hours of battery life. Even in normal mode to save at least 6 hours of it. It 'nice to leave the house without power, and not worry about the juice! Sometimes using a USB broadband WiMAX and clear that sucks a lot of power (the car estimated at 3 hours of battery life with it running). I tied with my iPhone and what does not eat the battery nearly as fast (I think I can get 4-5 hours with which it was established).

A netbook screens challenge, in general, is the software that makes the screen is bigger than 600 pixels - so that every time there is a window of fixed size, with an "OK" button, which is below the sill screen. You may need to press the Tab key and Enter to select "the right button to continue. This only a problem occasionally when installing software or installing / preferences screen (like Adobe Reader 9, which comes pre-installed), Windows Starter 7 does not allow you to customize your desktop or colors, but can legally install blind "free" from Stardock question for you to make some customizations, including color images and background.

Are hunting around for a good price to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM. I believe that to achieve 800MHz game - but do not know if this machine is intended to support a gear. I noticed that flash web games (like World Cafe and Farm Villas on Facebook) can be quite insensitive, so hopefully that will solve the RAM added. Netflix works great in full screen. He moved to NBC videos online full screen, but gives good results for the size (which fills much of the screen. I have not tested the HD video on YouTube yet. The speakers do not go hard, but I would not want a larger car only for the speakers louder. The headphone and microphone jacks are conveniently located on the side so that they are wrong.

The brightness of the LED screen is really bright. I find that most of the time I run it at reduced brightness (70%) and not lose any detail in the images. The track-pad is very small, but very functional. Many options for customization that even the big boys. The Multi-Touch gestures have on hand too, are pleased to be placed on the gateway machine. Webcam video is good - not stellar, but very good - better than the cam built into my laptop larger. The microphone is decent as well. This is great for Skype calls while sitting at my desk or laptop. Can I use Skype full screen and still be productive on my computer!

The keypad buttons are well sized. I have too many problems with typing - the exception is the key to backspace. I would be the greatest sacrifice and the size - and = buttons instead. Sometimes I find myself hitting backspace instead of =. Furthermore, the keys do not have the traction / clutch so there is never enough to feel your fingers are in the right place. Furthermore, the FN "," The features are an intense red - which can be a little 'hard to read on the keys blacks.

I read in other parts of the fan is high - not experienced that (and do not expect). The machine does not work, nor hot. Hinges open and close smoothly through the entire range of motion. The machine is solid, but not too heavy. Overall this computer is one of the best values out there for this type of product and we are pleased with my purchase.

Terrific Netbook
I've had the Gateway LT2030u for three weeks and am thoroughly enjoying it. I have a full sized computer with all its bells and whistles in a home office and now use it only to update several web sites I maintain and to type and/or print lengthy documents. The Gateway LT2030u had allowed me to go "green" in that it consumes very little energy as compared to my full sized computer and peripherals, plus office heating and lighting. I can use the Gateway anywhere in the house, or for that matter, anywhere on my property.

The Gateway LT2030u is very easy to set up. From opening the box to going online took me about 15 minutes, taking my time. It quickly identified my wireless network and locked on quickly. It is a sharp looking computer with a logically organized keyboard that is easy to use. The battery life is impressive. It kind of reminds me of the Energizer bunny in that it just keeps going!

I added a wireless mouse that required no installation at all. The Gateway recognizes it immediately each time on booting and it certainly simplifies my web browsing. I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and it was exceptionally easy to download, install, and use. Same with OpenOffice for creating and reading documents and spreadsheets.

I highly recommend the Gateway LT2030u!

I bought the LT2030 is almost 1-2 months. If shopping at Best Buy, I was looking for a small unit with the battery life of quality, a little 'more RAM / HDD space, and the ability to read low, so I was interested. I've had multiple choice, which decent prices, even a motherboard from ASUS, Dell, Toshiba and Gateway. Ultimately, the bridge won me over. First, it is superb! This is a truly impressive Candy Apple red. Secondly, the battery can still function no less than 7 hours. Asus ran a little 'longer, but disk space was the main factor. The LT2030u was the only model to 250 GB of space on HD. The other 3 models had about 100GB. For the same price as the other three ($ 349), the bridge was, of course, the best value.

Now, I've read some Internet censorship on the functioning of "hot", but I have not experienced this problem. I upgraded from version 7 to a fully functional version of the OS and added 1 GB of RAM for the system. I wear my netbook everywhere with me and have even been playing World of Warcraft on the system. Now, obviously, the graphics are not designed for graphics, with very intense game, but I think that works well for me. I would recommend this system. Granted, there is no backup discs, but there is a hidden folder on the system to operate the system back to factory settings, which is a very good if you plan to screw the system. I have read some complaints about the lack of documentation, but these people obviously never bothered to read the information on your computer or look deeper into what they buy.

Incidentally, has a Logitech Wireless Laser Mouse, which is the same Candy Apple Red and looks great, with the netbook. The USB is super small and easy to forget and bags in all cases, you end up with. It is certainly a great edition to have!
