Easy to use, eeepc that the label said. Excellent battery life, screen resolution clear, fast WiFi. Love it!

I resisted giving 5 stars because I upgraded from the Eee PC 701, so my perspective may be skewed. The 1005 is miles ahead in the size of the keyboard, the screen size, processor speed and hard drive. Yes, it comes with Windows XP, try to avoid in my next purchase netbook, but you can always dual boot. Installing Ubuntu was not too hard and now I have the ability to access Windows and Linux.

This netbook is ideal for travel, rescue and transport of files and E-mail/Internet on the go. Probably good for voice and video, as well, but I do not use it for myself. The battery lasts longer than my eight-pound dinosaur of a laptop at a fraction of the weight, even with the adapter. The screen resolution is beautiful, with a clear and simple. Good for downloading files, but not for a change, unless you like watching on a small screen. Nice size hard drive, but I'm sure he will leave something that will blow this one out of the water within a couple of years yet. Overall, I am really happy with this netbook. It has certainly achieved its purpose, as a lightweight travel computer that can be done on a plane and fits under the seat or in the head, take up minimal space, and it relieves my stress of being harassed by the door assistants Flight to carry bulky / heavy objects. If you need a laptop to use at your destination, think-ing ex-Fed is ahead and then you get one of these little netbook to carry and work with your thumb.

I always thought of a netbook to take the campus to take notes and academia in general, however, my plans were accelerated when my desktop HP Pavilion has taken a turn for the worse. I ordered specifically for the pad VU1X screen, and the boy was a good decision. I had no problems viewing the screen in any lighting condition - including spaces. The hard disk is divided into two partitions of 80 GB (and another partition recovery and small), with the native operating system, Windows XP installed on them. I immediately installed Linux (Fedora 11) from an SD card 1GB on the other partition. Nice dual-boot configuration.

I do not know what to think of "battery life 8.5 hours. Neither Windows or Linux, says 8.5 hours when fully charged on the left, but I do not run voluntarily for how long it takes. I know it will last 5-6 hours, no No problem, so that is great for my needs. Read the information on a defective charger cable, but my work was great for about a month.

So in conclusion:

Pros
-Classy white (often mistaken for a Mac, doesn't show fingerprints like a black/blue one)
-Battery Life
-Matte screen (for the VU1X)
-3 USB ports, SD slot
-Quiet and cool with everyday usage (internet browsing, word processing)
-Lightweight

Cons
-Struggles streaming from certain video sites (like Hulu), does ok on most
-Lots of ASUS bloatware comes preloaded

Definitely a good decision, I love this little netbook!
