Jason L. Laprade ( Carlsbad, CA USA ) I bought my wife needs a laptop / notebook for a week long conference attended. She loves purple and I wanted something similar to check email, webmail and do some 'walk while browsing. This was the perfect gift IMO.
Pluses:
Small: can almost fit in her purse.
Wireless: Supports 802.11b/g WEP and WPA
Price: You can't beat the $229.99 price
Purple: It's purple, she loves it.
Linux: Linux has negatives (read below) but it also has it's plusses like a software repository of software that can be installed for free.
Minuses:
Linux runs on Linux. I love Linux, but for my wife .... If the property comes with MS Word. It comes with Open Office, but she said that sometimes the format will be OO Word docs incorrectly. (BTW: Open Office is free and it still shows most of the documents correctly.) Moreover, this means that most can not run Windows software. Small Keyboard: The keyboard and the mouse is difficult to use. My wife is not just a woman. His hands are the size of adult beautiful. This may make it difficult to type long documents and use the mouse effectively. I suggested a keyboard and mouse for laptop, when the real work on the aircraft when not in motion. Range: ads is 3.5 hours, but if you have wireless, audio, and not obscure the screen time is reduced to about 1.5 - 2 hours. Not great.
Overall, this camera is great. I want one not too (purple) for businesses. I prefer something with better battery life, but it could be ok with that for the price. I have a laptop that is great for the transition from one office to another, but totally impractical for the trip and travel with. It would be nice for the person who is always in motion, may bring a small portable device and it's OK not to have the latest machines and most of their use.
