I could easily get a newspaper or a book there too. For me it is the right amount of pockets and the weight is very light.

Chris Weber I own a netbook and lighting. Offer both with me. This bag has enough space for a small laptop (10 "Eee PC), my Kindle 2, a Moleskine, and various other waste to me. You're not going to get much more than in the main compartments. The side pockets are large spaces for pens, cell phones, etc. This bag is very small, you are a Rat Pack might have trouble.

Clayton Andersen ( California ) I think this bag is awesome! very sturdy and can hold more has been said in earlier comments. I have three books in the main bag (with laptop) and sometimes I put one in the front pocket. I have a couple of small things "that I really did not do. 1) The pencil and pen on the front are not big enough, my pens barely fit, but not all of my pencils, pens or pencils, if you have any Rubber grip on them is incorrect. 2) The small pocket on the front is useless, its too big for small things, like flash drives, and too small for the big things, like books, and there's already a place for a cell phone, and also the 'ideal for this.
Otherwise, good bag, very comfortable, the strap is great, and even the handles are comfortable too.
