I use this netbook case to store my Dell Mini 10 in. It holds it securely in place perfectly. Currently, I use the small pouch for my charger, mouse and wireless internet card. The pouch is very small, but it will hold those three items without any problems. This case is very cute/attractive, and provides great protection for my netbook. The other netbook cases I have seen have been really basic and unattractive, so I am pleased that I have found this one that is truly unique and it comes with a handle. This was a great buy for me and I am pleased with my purchase. The only downside is I thought I saw the Eiffel Tower on the case in the picture, but it's not on the case I purchased.

I purchased this case for my daughter, who was getting a new Acer Aspire netbook. The design on the case is nice, and it is well-padded, but we encountered a major problem. The case is designed to hold the netbook while it is open, so you can use it while it's still in the case. The problem is that you can't fit the netbook in the case with the battery on. Since you can't use the Acer computer without the battery, the case is useless. I will be sending the case back because of this. It's too bad, because it is an attractive looking bag.

This is excellent case for my Eee PC1000HE. Just one minus the case does not have enough space for an extended battery.

Just got this case today and although I cannot vouch for durability,I can tell you that I love it so far. It's padded nicely and the front pocket is large enough for the charger.
The pattern is very cool and not to "girly".

Make netbook connection to internet

Monday, March 1, 2010

People often are confused about how to connect their netbook (or laptop) to the Internet. Is the same for netbook - you can connect virtually any portable computer to the Internet in four ways .... And it's really easy

1. Using Wired connection ISP
The first way, and I use a lot, simply connect your notebook to the router at home, using the Netbook Ethernet port and cable that came with your router. So every time that works, provides a fast and secure, but it means that you need to use the netbook a short cable from your router. Any use of the Internet will be part of the normal use of broadband with your ISP at home, but not the point of netbooks which can be mobile with them? Who wants to have Nice new Netbook linked by a cable?

2. Connect with wireless connection from your home ISP
Another way to get netbooks online if you're at home is to connect the wireless router for the home. It is a very simple process - just connect the netbook and try your router. You can get a fast connection, good security (if you tell your router to use WPA) and usually work anywhere in your home or garden. Several netbooks, notebooks and other computers you can use the wireless Internet router in this way by you, your family and friends can use their own netbook at the same time.

3. Using Wifi Connection
A really cheap way to get online when you're out and it is on Wifi. Many squat - bars, hotels, shopping centers - were "wifi hotspots" that are simply powerful wireless router that can be used to connect the netbook wireless network. Some are free and can be used by all computers that are located nearby. Others are owned by operators such as BT Openzone or telecomms MYCLOUD and you need to pay to use them. The monthly subscription or pay as you go available. Perfect then, these choices are free and cheap for use with netboks cheap?

For something different from the netbook navigation in general, be wary of wifi. Others have no security at all, and the other is the password protection, but the data you send and receive is not encrypted. This means that no one can browse and listen to what they were doing. Do not waste time with wifi for this reason. See our function to separate the Access to learn more about it.

4. Using 3G Connection
The final form to connect to the network of netbooks - (and yes, there are only four ways - I said it was easy) is to use the latest mobile phone network - short for third generation 3G. As a phone, you can pay as you go or do a monthly subscription for phone companies to meet their needs. Then, with a small USB device called a modem or a USB dongle connected to your netbook, you can connect quickly and securely to the network most of the United Kingdom and in many places abroad. Netbook Some even have a slot to put the card in a straight line, if you can use a phone where you are, you probably can connect to the internet via 3G. Many people use 3G to connect to the network even netbook at home and not waste time with a normal ISP.

As a new netbook owner, I wanted a guide that would help me get the most of out of my new computer. This book fills the bill! I'm a long-time Mac owner who has owned Windows machines in the past, but there's a lot I don't know about Windows--or about netbooks in general. This book provided just the type of information I was looking. The range of material it covers would be useful for first-time computer owners or people with a lot of computer experience who just don't know much about netbooks. There's great information here for everyone. I immediately put some of Joli's tips into practice and am getting a lot more out of my computer now.

The book is extremely well written and easy to follow, with clear, useful illustrations. I highly recommend this book.

I've always trusted Kensington products, and this one did not disappoint. It simultaneously supports four peripherals (light, mouse, thumb drive, & external HDD) on my Acer AspireOne with no "glitches." This item arrived promptly and is exactly what I expected.

Happy Customer ( U.S. )
The ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook I ordered from Amazon 2 months ago arrived with lightening-like speed and in perfect condition. I unpacked it at lunch time, plugged it in and waited a day and a half to power it up for the first time. It works great. Windows 7 (Starter Edition) is a breeze to operate. (No need to upgrade - the Starter Edition does everything I expected it to.) In no time, I was hooked up to my home wifi and surfing the internet. It was just as easy to use the separate CD reader I purchased (also from Amazon) to load a program I had on CD. (I chose a CD reader only - very inexpensive) I loaded another important program over my wifi with no problem. The keyboard is almost full-size and has a good feel to it. The touch-pad mouse took just a little time to get used to, but is now like second nature to me. I did not buy the extra memory and probably won't. This little netbook runs great for internet use and for word processing just the way it is. I've had only one frustration so far - I'm having a problem with my free trial of Microsoft Office Home Edition. I can't find an unlock code and Microsoft wants me to download a whole new program to do a much shorter trial. I bought a memory-foam case with separte pouch for the transformer/plug. The whole outfit weighs less than 3 pounds! Now that's portability!! I've saved the best for last - the battery really does last 14 hours!!! As I mentioned before, my use is mostly word processing. It takes several full evenings of use to run the battery down.

In summary, it works great right out of the box. Portable, super-long battery life, good keyboard and mouse, and speedy. Even Windows 7 Starter is a winner!

Signed,
Happy Customer

Hi,
The cons: slow with Window$; low RAM memory; weak materials (scratched out of the box); not assembled properly (keyboard was not even, a section was lowed in depth than the rest of the keys.

The pros: just get a case to protect it. they are cheap and colorful as well (see iPerl mCover); I changed the RAM card by a 2GB and it works as a charm; finally, got rid of the pre-installed Window$ and installed linux. I use OpenSuSe 11.2 and the little friend became so fast and reliable. Only the multi-touch feature of the mouse has not being ported to linux yet (at least the version I have). I never again used my huge old notebook. This netbook from ASUS is a great choice. There are several netbooks in the marked, making as low in power as small in size devices. This is not the case with this model of ASUS. This is a powerful notebook, that improves when using it with linux, and its battery last for more than 10 hours.

I recommend this device for any student, or frequent traveler. I use it on my sailboat as well, saving a lot of space and energy.
Well done ASUS

We purchased this unit for travel purposes. For the first 3 weeks it ran great. We recommended it to others and they also purchased it. Then it stopped working. Asus customer service has not been very helpful. They want us to pay for return shipping and wait for 5 to 7 business days for their tech to look at it. What good is a warranty?

M. Keller ( Houston, TX )
I've been looking for a new computer for a while as my old laptop has slowly but surely ran out of usable life. I purchased a netbook because I realized that I don't often use my computer for much other than the internet and some real basic functions. I think that's because my old laptop got slower and slower so I just got used to not using it for much.

I can't really comment on the reliability of the machine as I've only had mine for a few weeks, but I have had no problems with it so far. I've travelled a couple times with it and never had a problem connecting to other networks. Also, the keyboard is a little cramped, but it hasn't been too much of an issue for me. Sometimes it does feel awkward going back to my work laptop that has a full size keyboard...

I feel like battery life was a key marketing point for this model and I will comment that I've found if all you do is surf the internet and put the machine on it's power saving energy mode, mine does last the 14 hours that is advertised, even on a wireless network. So I'm happy to leave positive feedback there.

Overall, I don't really have any issues with the machine. Sometimes it does bog down when I'm using Skype and trying to surf the internet at the same time. I also haven't installed the extra gig of memory and I'm also not sure if it is the wireless connection's fault or if it's the computer's fault, but I'm told that my video tends to freeze when I open the internet while video chatting with someone on Skype. Like I said though, this could be the internet connection's fault (bandwidth issues?) or it could be that the netbook just doesn't have the power. I'm not exactly a computer guy so I'm not really qualified to accurately diagnose the problem...

Overall though, I've been very satisfied.
